I didn't realize you were a military wife too! And a newlywed like I am with a deployed hubby, to boot!!!

I know it's hard, but try your best not to worry, sweetheart. At least he's on a naval carrier and not as close to the action. It really really sucks that he can't call you though maybe internet phone service? *hopeful for you* Skype's a good one. My hubby's in the Army, over in Iraq, but they get to use the phones as long as they're working (which, admittedly, is somewhat hit-and-miss...er...bad description!).

If you ever need anything, please feel free to talk to me. It's not quite the same, I know, but I'll try and help anyway I can.

Aww thanks! Its been rough but thankfully he was able to call me finally. The static was a real bummer lol But it was still good to hear his voice. We came up with this idea. I'm buying him a camcorder and going to send him some recordable dvds plus mailers so that when he gets them he can make some videos, burn them and send the dvds back. Of course I told him don't go filming stuff that is restricted or such lol. I can't wait to get a dvd.

Mostly I'm learning to stick to a daily routine, keep busy and when I start feeling bad to talk with people. That's awesome that your husband gets to use the phone etc. I heard from my husband's boss that they have something called video conferencing it sounds promising.

Anyways thank you for the support and comment. It really makes a world of difference to have that support. Also same here I have a friend whose husband (Navy) is going to be sent to Iraq soon to act as sort of I guess a police unit or something over there.

The camcorder is good, or if you get a webcam you can just go over the interwebs (really have no idea if that's possible, like I said, we're Army XP).

Awww, tell your friend I said I'll be praying for her too. I understand that it's very hard, and I can't imagine not getting to talk to my husband every day.

Lol I couldn't work for most of the time he's been gone b/c I was medically discharged from the army myself and had back problems, but now I've finally got a job and I can't wait!!!

I was wondering about the webcam but I'm pretty sure that's a no. The ship my husband on is the Lincoln and its not exactly a new ship so... lol. From what I understand at least the Lincoln is a little better than the Ronald Reagan ship.

Thanks I will. She's trying her hardest to find a way for him not to go. Who knows she might be able to. lol I told her so has all of our support, people she knows etc.

lol I don't have a job. I'm suppose to go get one but...some new stuff cropped up with my husband's family. One died and one is close to death. Then my dad has some issues with memory stuff so I've not been too inclined to go look for one.

I'm focusing more on getting my BA done but if it comes to the point where money starts getting difficult or I really need something to put my focus on plus a little experience is good for me then I will.
